
About the author
Guy Allen started riding relatively late in life, at age 17. He began a career in motorcycle magazines in 1984 and has, over that time, been Editor of Australian Motorcycycle News, Motorcycle Trader magazine (plus the Kiwi verson), Australian Rider and AllMoto online. He now works for Motorcycle Trader as a contributor, and Editorial Producer for its website MCTrader.com.au plus its sister titles.
His career has included working as a gardener, real estate salesman, cook, marketing manager, PR manager and academic. The latter role included working as a part-time tutor and lecturer at RMIT University, running the journalism stream for La Trobe University for five years and teaching full-time into the postgrad communications program at the University of Melbourne for two and a half years.
In early 2009 his motorcycle fleet comprises a GTS1000 Yamaha, a much-modified Suzuki Hayabusa, Triumph Daytona 1200, a T150V, 1947 Sunbeam S7, Suzuki GS1000G outfit, Yamaha SR500 and TT600.
In his spare time, he flies light aircraft.
